Prizes
There will be 3 prizes available this year as follows:

Ronald Edwards Medal  - best scientific oral presentation   
John Parker Medal       -  best interactive presentation   
Society Thoracic Medal  - best scientific thoracic presentation

The winners will be announced at the annual dinner Thursday 16th March at the Guinness Storehouse

Guest Speakers

Timothy J Gardner MD
Medical Director, The Center for Heart and Vascular Health, Christiana Care Health System, Delaware, USA, Clinical Professor of Surgery, the University of Pennsylvania, IPA Medical Officer, National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda MD USA.  Dr Gardener will be giving the Heart Research UK lecture entitled
 Cardiac Surgery and the Brain:  What we Know and What We Should Do About it.

Dr Gardner will also be leading St Jude Postgraduate Session 1 on Beating Heart CABG Surgery.

Douglas E Wood MD
Professor and Chief, General Thoracic Surgery and Endowed Chair in Lung Cancer Research at the University of Washington.  Dr Wood will be giving the Pulse lecture entitled
Lung Volume Reduction Surgery: Before and After the National Emphysema Treatment Trial.

Dr Wood will also be leading St Jude Postgraduate Session 2 on Surgical Management of T3/T4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer.
