The Annual Scientific Meeting 2005 is to be held at the Olympia Conference Centre, Kensington, London between Saturday 5th and Tuesday 8th March 2005 .

Our guest speakers this year are  Andrew Wechsler MD , Stanley K. Brockman Professor and Chairman at Drexel University College of Medicine, Pennsylvania, USA and  Walter Weder MD , Professor of Surgery at the University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland.

UK Medical Ltd Surgical Division Symposium on Endocarditis:  Surgical Strategies

A symposium will be taking place on Monday 7th March at the Olympia conference centre from 18.00 to 20.00 with a buffet available from 20.00 to 21.15.  Please note that you will only be able to register for this symposium if you have registered for the main meeting.

This year there will be 3 prizes available.  The Ronald Edwards Medal for best oral presentation, the John Parker Medal for best interactive presentation and the SCTS Medal for best thoracic presentation.

Prizewinners will be announced at the annual dinner to be held on Tuesday, 8th March at the Royal College of Surgeons.

 

European and American CME credits


The Annual Meeting of The Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons of Great Britain & Ireland is accredited by The European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of The European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), and forms can be downloaded at http://www.uems.net/.   The meeting is designated for a maximum of 24 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she has actually spent in the educational activity.EACCME credits are recognised by the American Medical Association towards the Physician's Recognition Award (PRA). To convert EACCME credits to AMA PRA category 1 credit, contact the AMA.
