Our guest speakers this year are Andrew Wechsler MD, Stanley K. Brockman Professor and Chairman at Drexel University College of Medicine, Pennsylvania, USA and Walter Weder MD, Professor of Surgery at the University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland.
Endocarditis: Surgical Strategies. Satellite symposium sponsored by UK Medical Ltd Surgical Division and Shelhigh Inc
A symposium will be taking place on Monday 7th March at the Olympia conference centre. It will discuss Endocarditis from basic science to surgical techniques for use in the presence of infection as well as surgical strategies to avoid the problem, presented by an international panel of speakers. The symposium will run from 18.00 to 20.00 with a buffet available from 20.00 to 21.15. Please note that you will only be able to register for this symposium if you have registered for the main meeting.
Thoracic skills assessment
A skills lab will take place on Monday 7th March commencing 08.30 and running throughout the day until 18.00. It will not be taking place during lunch and tea breaks. It will involve 4 stations:
A) porcine heart-lung block 1 (hilar vessel dissection)
B) porcine heart-lung block 2 (bronchial anastomosis)
C) VATS simulator
D) bronchoscopy simulator.
There will be an introductory video. Each station will take 20 minutes.
